Khmer Krom: No info after probe into death threat

An investigation into alleged death threats made against Thach Setha, president of the Khmer Kampuchea Krom Association, has so far yielded nothing, Ministry of Interior spokesman Khieu Sopheak said yesterday.
According to Sopheak, after receiving Thach Setha’s complaint, Minister of Interior Sar Kheng ordered the National Police to investigate the case.
“We are working on the case, and we have yet to get the results,” he said.
Setha said yesterday that he had yet to receive any information from the Ministry of Interior.
Setha filed the complaint on October 10 against a Vietnamese man who allegedly identified himself as Nguyen Minh, a resident of Canada.
Setha accused Nguyen of threatening to kill him in a phone call placed on the fourth day of a five-day protest seeking government action over remarks made by a former Vietnamese Embassy spokesman regarding the sovereignty of land in modern-day Vietnam.
